Anne Baker, eXXpedition
Anne Baker is an ambassador & mission co-leader for eXXpedition, an organisation that runs all-female research expeditions to investigate the causes of and solutions to ocean plastic pollution.
She was the 2nd Mate on the inaugural eXXpedition voyage across the Atlantic in 2014 and was mission leader for the Round Britain 2017 Leg 2.
"Being part of a team trying to understand in more detail how environmental and specifically ocean toxins affect women’s health is a wonderful opportunity. For my own health and also to share this through the female branches of the youth organisations I work with, principally girl guides and scouts. My third leg, comes from my recent agricultural studies during which I realised the effects of human intervention on the environment, both land and sea and highlighted the fine balance of the environmental and the impact of farming.”
Dr Alice Brough BVM&S MRCVS, Viva! Veterinary Consultant & Campaigner
Pig Tales - 4 years of working as a livestock vet in the pig industry turned Alice vegan - why? Herriot-style tales of woe and interesting things you didn't know; pick apart the carefully constructed lies from animal agriculture and find out what really goes on behind closed doors!
Viva! is a British animal rights group, which focuses on promoting veganism. They carry out undercover investigations to expose the abuse of factory farmed animals and produces information on how to go vegan, including recipes and shopping guides.
Gail Dunsbee from Hempish: Nature’s Greatest Gift
A beacon of hope for a sustainable, healthy, green, world, by the worlds most versatile plant. From the eating of healthy seeds to the building of a house, hemp does it all.
Tony Tofu: The Vegan Flag and why its definition of veganism is so important.
The vegan flag is a civil flag that represent veganism. The flag consists of three blue and green triangles forming the letter V, the first letter in the word “vegan”. The flag was created in hopes of uniting animal rights organisations and activists. For more info visit the Vegan Flag website.
