Bridgwater Eco-Conscious Festival 2024

  • Blake Gardens 8 Binford Place Bridgwater, England, TA6 3NJ United Kingdom (map)

“Seed the Day” event is back and better than ever, moving to Blake Gardens in Bridgwater. Mark your calendars for Saturday, 14th September, from 10am to 3pm, for a day filled with fun, learning, and community spirit.

This free event promises to bring festival vibes with music, engaging activities, informative demos, and inspiring talks on all things eco-friendly.

The highlight of the day will be the popular vegan market, featuring a variety of stalls offering plant-based goods, from delicious street food to gourmet deli items, ethical clothing brands, and cruelty-free cosmetics. Additionally, numerous environmental charities and organisations will be present to share their missions and initiatives.

Bridgwater Town Council will be running two competitions as part of the day.

 Recycled Art Competition

Children in four age categories are invited to participate in a Recycled Art Competition. This is a fantastic opportunity for young artists to showcase their creativity by transforming materials that would typically be discarded into beautiful works of art. Entries should be brought to the Bridgwater Town Council Gazebo by 1pm on the day of the event.

Vegan Baking Competition

Aspiring bakers are encouraged to register their entries in advance using the following link: https://www.eventbrite.com/e/seed-the-day-vegan-baking-competition-tickets-1000584102987

Please ensure your delicious vegan creations are brought along before 2.00pm on the day of the event.

Councillor Kathy Pearce, Chair of the Environment Committee said:,  “As part of Bridgwater Town Council’s Climate Emergency Strategy, this is a great opportunity to promote amazing alternative produce and products which literally do not cost the earth and have some fun at the same time. We invite everyone to come along to enjoy the range of produce on offer, maybe try something new, and find out how we can all make a difference.”

Be an eco-warrior

We do everything we can to ensure our events are as eco-conscious as they can be. From the paper and ink we use for our flyers to banning plastic bags and cutlery. We’ve come up with 5 tips to make your visit more eco-friendly…

  1. Bring a tote bag for your shopping.

  2. Bring a reusable cup & cutlery.

  3. Bring your own tupperware to fill up with goodies.

  4. Take public transport where you can or liftshare.

  5. If you have to drive, offset your emissions by planting a tree in our grove.
