Trader spotlight - Nelly's Delhi.
We are so excited to announce a new guest blog on our website! Mark visits a lot of our markets and has decided to do a mini series celebrating small vegan food businesses. Mark Crabtree is a vegan fitness/bodybuilding enthusiast with a passion for motivating others into moving their bodies, getting out into nature and spreading the positivity around veganism. As well as dispelling beliefs that plant-based foods are boring (make sure you follow him on instagram - mark ctreefitness).
So without further a do, take it away Mark…
Had the pleasure of visiting another Vegan Fairs market last weekend. This time it was in Cirencester. Since I’m able to visit these fairs on the regular (my partner Tyler Aromatherapy trades) and I love to eat, I’ve decided on doing a mini series of blogs celebrating small vegan food businesses.
This time in the spotlight it’s Nellys Delhi - I had the vegan chicken wrap and masala chips and their spices are outta this world! 🔥
Tell me about your business?
Nelly’s Delhi offers a special selection of Indian street food dishes, enjoyed by Indians at home and on their streets. Dhaba means a roadside food stall and in Wolverhampton, we have achieved that. Anniell researched deep into history to unearth amazing recipes from India and the subcontinent. Anniell believes that food is eaten with the eyes first, therefore you can be assured of beautiful plates of tasty food. Ingredients are fresh, sustainable and of the highest quality with no artificial colouring or stabilisers.
What inspired you to start your business?
We always felt that there were not enough options for vegetarian, vegan options, you go to a shop or restaurant, and the only vegetarian, vegan options are your standard bland Vegetarian burgers. Here at Nelly’s Delhi, we have always tried to push boundaries and have now made it into a reality, mouthwatering Indian street food using all vegan, vegetarian products.
We only use the finest freshly made ingredients and our dishes are freshly prepared and cooked in form of the customer, it’s like a live cooking experience, by doing this, we can engage with the customer and understand what mouthwatering flavours they want. We at Nelly’s Delhi edit all our dishes to the customer’s requirements if a customer wishes to have it spicy, we make it spicy, if mild, we make it mild, we give that option to the customer.
What is your best seller?
I’m not trying to be cocky but all our dishes sell well.
(I can totally see where they are coming from here 😋)
Roll on the next Vegan Fairs event. I will definitely be making my way through the Nellys Delhi menu 🌱💚💯
